2-Days boat trip Nongkhiaw

Sightseeing, trekking and kayaking, Ethnic Village expedition

• 8:30 am: Make sure you arrive at our office to prepare for your trekking
• 9:00 am: Meeting with your guide and departure from the office by Tuk-Tuk

 

You will boat upstream for 40minutes on the Ou river to Ban houy hoy is a Khmu farming village, which you explore , outside the village a two hrs trek starts, where you will walk through rice paddies, up a small forested mountain slop into a limestone valley then into a plateau with a Hmong village, a highlight of the trip. You have to lunch here. Another trail starts for about 2.5 hrs down to the river where our boat  take you north to Muang Ngoy. This is a small village under the missive limestone cliff where you can hear tales of the last indochina war.     You walk to an ancient cave and up to the top viewpoint in the region. A small boat trip follows, taking you to weaving village of Ban Sop Jam where you will sleep  after dinner.  Here you can see textile being woven and buy any like direct from the ladies.

After breakfast , on your second day you go south to Ban Sop Kong, where another trek follow through the paddies and country scenery, ending in a climb to a jungle waterfall where you can rest , swim and lunch nearby.

 You then head back to the Ou river where the guide will give you a safety briefing and a short introduction to basic of kayak. You then head downstream, enjoying kayaking along the scenic Ou river viewing local wildlife, birds and human activity. The trip end at Nam Ou river loge.
