Trip Overview

It’s your time to adventure! 3 days walking in primary forest, overnight in Ban Lantan village, truly experience the nature and local culture. Trained guides will share information about the ecology and culture. Time will be taken to explore ethnic villages. We will learn about traditional crafts and engage with locals.

Itinerary

• 8:30 am: Make sure you arrive at our office to prepare for your trekking
• 9:00 am: Meeting with your guide and departure from the office by Tuk-Tuk or mini-van

DAY 1: Luang Namtha city – Ban Namlue – Ban Namkoy

Departing Luang Namtha by Tuk-tuk, we drive south to Ban Namlue village, where our trek starts. There you will meet our villager guide, who will assist us for half day journey, and then you will start trekking through forest, lush scenery, and diverse landscapes. Some parts are challenging,  we always having fun and encouraging each other. The Lantan guide will share with you his forest experience and find edible plants using and take you to see wildlife, around 3-4 pm arriving village, you can take this opportunities play the Lantan children, feed the animals and learn from their ways to collect water, bathing traditions and enjoy amazing view and sunset. You will spend the night in a Namkoy village Ban Namkoy in villager homes, in your village stay you will experience traditional Lantan cooking style and rice whisky prepared in the village

Day 2: Ban Lantan village – Ban Khmu

After enjoying breakfast, you will spend time walking around the village, what’s interacting with the locals and learning about local culture before beginning to the farm. When the weather is good you might be able to see or hear the wildlife, Today you are going to discover Khmu life along the way  and spend time for lunch with them. Afterward, You will continue walk through wildlife salt lick areas with extensive views over the fields, soon you have to arrive the Khmu village, interacting of this this village are childrens and Village live close the river, you have swim. And then you help to cooking an organic food for your dinner. After dinner, you will receive a special Khmu dancing for warmly welcome, and others... that is a traditionally giving to the their guests spend the night in their village.

Day 3: Ban Namkoy – Ban Chalernsouk – Luang Namtha city

Enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee, Then you will have a breakfast, after we say goodbye with this village we will go uphill. Only during the rainy season that it may be bit slippery from time to time and then, We continue to cross a few small and beautiful streams, We will stop and spend some time wherever we find something interesting and our experienced local guide will do the explanations. At noon, we will enjoy a Local picnic lunch with traditional Khmu food, accompanied by the music of bird songs and chirping cicadas. After lunch we walk up and down the main road, which the Tuk-Tuk waiting.

Walk throuhg Hmong and Khmu agricultural area. Trained guides will share information about the ecology and culture. Time will be taken to explore ethnic villages. We will learn about traditional crafts and engage with locals.

DAY 1: Luang Namtha city- Ban Chalernsouk- Ban Nalan Neua

Departing Luang Namtha by Tuk-tuk, we drive south to Ban Chaluensouk village, where our trek starts. There you will meet our villager guide, who will assist us for half day journey, helping us to carry some food. During the first part of the trek we will walk up to the top of the mountain, Then along the ridge line of a mountain range, until we head down through a wonderful dense green forest, at noon your guides will serve you lunch, after lunch walk down stream for 2 hrs arriving Ban nalan village (Khmu tribe), and we spend the night in a Khmu tribe minority village home stay here,

DAY 2: Ban Nalan Neua – Ban Nalan Tai – Ban Namkoy – Forest camp

The second morning with a pleasant walk following the Nam Ha River. Here, the forest varies from stands of large hardwoods to new growths of bamboo. The trail passes through the village of Ban Nalan Tai (South Ban Nalan) and the open cultivated areas of the Lanten village of Ban Nam Koy where you'll have lunch and enjoying an exhibition of villager handmade, And then we continue to deep inside the forest, this place, the local guides will show you, how to collect wild herbs and eatable plants for our dinner You will help your guide prepare the jungle picnic meal before hiking further to the campsite, your guide and you will prepare the simple hut and bed for the night’s sleep.

DAY 3: Forest camp – Ban Namlue – Luang Namtha city

Wake up to the sun and enjoy the fresh crisp morning fresh air and listen to the animals, Today we hike through dense forest, giving us a chance to hear or even see monkeys. If not, the guide will point out signs of wildlife including bears, civets and wild boars which are present in the area, We have a break for lunch at noon and provided for us by Khmu villagers at a fantastic viewpoint with incredible vistas across the valley. Our guide will point out how far we have to walk, After lunch, we continue walk up and downhill from the mountains to Ban Chaluensouk, where our songthaew is waiting to bring us back to Luang Namtha.

During the first part of the trek we will walk up to the top of the mountain, Then along the ridge line of a mountain range, until we head down through a wonderful dense green forest, at noon your guides will serve you lunch, after lunch walk down stream for 2 hrs arriving Ban nalan village (Khmu tribe), and we spend the night in a Khmu tribe minority village home stay.

DAY 2: Ban Nalan Neua - Ban Nalan Tai – Ban Namkoy – Ban Namlue village

Leave the village we climbs up for a couple of hours. This is the most challenging section of the trail, but also the most beautiful, as it passes through the least impacted forest of the trip. Trees up to four or five hundred years old create a dense canopy which provides a habitat for many birds. Pause quietly for a minute and listen to the forest come alive with the sounds of birds and insects.

The final descent goes past mountain rice fields and cultivated areas of the mixed Lanten and Khamu village of Ban Nam Lue, and have a night day with villager home stay.

DAY 3: Ban Namlue – Ban Soptod – Ban Sop Sim – Ban Houylerd – Luangnamtha city

After enjoy hot tea, coffee dring and breakfast we take ahead paddle down the river. As we seeing some beautiful views of the forest are revealed before we arrive at a section of exciting rapids! Upon arriving where the Nam Ha river meets the Nam Tha river, we branch off and paddle down the Nam Tha river for a while until arriving at the Khmu village of Ban Huaylerd. We will take sometimes discover the village before take Tuk-Tuk back to Luang Namtha.

DAY 1: Luang Namtha city – Ban Namlua village – Forest campsite

After 20 minutes transfer to the south direction, we will stop at Ban Namlue village, where our trek starting, you will meet our village guide who will assist us during the whole journey to helping us to carry some food, During the first part of the trek we will walk up to the top of the mountain rising to an elevation of 600m. From a high point and short looking view point across the Namha NPA

The local guides will show you, how to collect wild herbs and eatable plants for our dinner You will help your guide prepare the jungle picnic meal before hiking further to the campsite, your guide and you will prepare the simple hut and bed for the night’s sleep.

Fall asleep in the darkness and sounds of the forest and the small stream nearby camp. If you like to go for wildlife spotting at night, this is the right place to do it. Our local guide will accompany you, Make sure to bring along a strong flashlight or head lamp.

DAY 2: Forest campsite – Ban Nanlan Neua –Namha river camp

Wake up to the sun and enjoy the fresh crisp morning fresh air and listen to the animals. We re-ignite the camp fire to prepare a traditional breakfast, taking energy for the following trek over steep paths further up into the Nam Ha forest, Today we hike through dense forest, giving us a chance to hear or even see monkeys. If not, the guide will point out signs of wildlife including bears, civets and wild boars which are present in the area,

We have a break for lunch at noon and provided for us by Khmu villagers at a fantastic viewpoint with incredible vistas across the valley. Our guide will point out how far we have to walk, After lunch, we continue walk up and downhill from the mountains to River camping and have a good dream here.

DAY 3: Forest campsite – Ban Namha –Namha river camp

Wake up before the sun and enjoy the fresh crisp morning fresh air and listen to the animals, After breakfast we will continue hiking through the area of abundant forest, The guide will point out signs of wildlife including bears, civets and wild boars which are present in the area, We have a break for lunch at noon, Our guide will point out how far we have to walk, After lunch we continue walk up and downhill from the mountains to Ban Namha, where place we will finish our trek and tuk-tuk bing you back to city
